Earth Hour

I find it amusing that some people organize parties to commorate the Earth Hour.

Isn't it funny?
I thought Earth Hour is meant to signify what we can do to save energy, hence less carbon emission.
A party will only increase it, will it not?

They say that it's to show that they are aware of the Earth Hour, the effort.

Huh?

This is not like breast cancer awareness campaign, baby.
